Russia will block 6 more VPN providers
Russian Internet watchdog Roskomnadzor has announced the blocking of six new VPN providers.
The new list includes the likes of Betternet, Lantern, X-VPN, Cloudflare’s WARP VPN, Tachyon VPN, and PrivateTunnel.
As with all the previous VPN blocks, the agency offered organizations and institutions to inform the Center of Monitoring and Control Over Public Service Networks of they use those VPN services in their work so they can continue doing so.
The agency did not specify when exactly the VPNs will start being blocked. But, following previous VPN blocks, the decision should come into effect shortly.
This is another in a long line of Russia’s attempts to block VPN providers. In summer 2021, the Roskomnadzor agency blocked Opera VPN and VyprVPN, followed by NordVPN, ExpressVPN, IPVanish, Hola, VPN Unlimited, and Speedify in September.
